ADOBE ACROBAT READER

Interpine sends some reports as PDF (Portable Document Format) files. With PDF your detailed reports looks the same on screen as your paper report looked normally and you can print it. To view these report details, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader(version 4 or higher) - a free PDF viewer plug-in.

Try our Acrobat Testing Page to see if you have Acrobat properly installed.

If you don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader or you need to upgrade to a higher version please download Acrobat from the Adobe site - this page will provide guidance on how to install it on your computer.                                   < GOTO ACROBAT SITE

Once you arrive at the acrobat reader download site you will need to complete 3 steps before downloading the install files.    Complete step 1 by selecting your platform (e.g. Windows 98 or ME) and select "Japan" as the closest download site.    You can them skip step 2 and go straight to step 3 and click on download.

Once you have selected to download the software select "Save the Program to Disk" and then save the install files to your "desktop".   On a normal 56K phone modem this may take up to 20min to download.     From here just run the install file on your desktop to walk through installing acobat reader.

I can't get the Acobat Reader to download from the Internet website !!!!

Because of the size of the acrobat download some people may experience problems with downloading the install files for acrobat.   This is especially the case if in remote areas where phone lines are often of poor quality.     Interpine will happily provide a CD that we can send you in the post to give you the install files you require to get up and going.    Just send us through your platform type (eg. Windows 98, ME or XP etc) and postal address and we can send this through. Contact us though our feedback page or call our customer support line.

I Can't Save the Report in Acrobat Reader

The save option will not be available in Acrobat Versions prior to Version 4.0. To enable the save option upgrade to the latest version of Acrobat Reader by following this link.

Note it is recommended that you un-install any previous versions prior to installing the latest upgrade.

Acrobat Reader Problems with Internet Explorer 5.0 on Windows

If your browser is Internet Explorer 5.0 you may have difficulty viewing reports. Depending on which version of Acrobat, it is related to the settings and can be resolved by the following steps:

Acrobat 4.0

From your Windows Start Menu, select Programs > Adobe Acrobat > Adobe Acrobat Reader
In Acrobat, go to the Preferences/General menu. Make sure the option for "Web Browser Integration" is not ticked.
Click on OK, and close Acrobat.
Now go to the Interpine Forestry Client Zone and log in. Return to your reports and click to view details. Click on "open from current location". This will open your reports on your screen, in a separate window to your web browser.

Acrobat 5.0

Open Adobe Acrobat
Go to Edit/Preferences
In the Preferences Window highlight "Options" in the scroll menu on the left
Make sure the Display PDF in Browser box is unchecked under the Web Browser Options
Click on OK, and close Acrobat.
Now go to the Interpine Forestry Client Zone and log in. Return to your reports and click to view details. Click on "open from current location". This will open your reports on your screen, in a separate window to your web browser.

Printing Problems with Acrobat

Some printer drivers may have problems printing acrobat files. The result being unreadable printouts. The solutions ....

Once you have pressed the Print Button you will get a dialog box
Select PRINT AS IMAGE in the top right hand side.

I can open 1 or even 2 PDF reports and then the rest come up blank !

This seems to be an issue when accessing from within some of the corperate networks.     It seems to be a timeout that will allow you to download a single PDF files and then after a ceratin timeframe will no longer allow any PDF files to be retrieved.     You will notice that if you close the browser completely and re-open and login, you again can assess just one report.      After dicussions with Carter Holt Harvey network aministrators as an example, the problem seems to be solved by having a browser level of Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater.     If you are having this problem don't hestiate to give us a call.

When requesting a PDF to display -The browser box is just empty

There can at times be conflicts with the way that acrobat interacts with your web browser. If this occurs the browser windows can come up blank (with "Done" in the bottom left corner) when attempting to view a report, niether the acrobat ActiveX control or the report displays.  A simple solution is to disable "Acrobat Reader Web Browser Intergration" which means that each time you request to open a PDF file from the Internet, it is opened directly in Acrobat itself rather than a seperate browser window.   This solution has helped many clients that experience problems.    To do this follow the following steps :
