Is there a free plotsafe viewing program that can be installed on laptop computers? The reason I ask this is because we get our field crews to download their data to email, but once the inventory file is on their computers they are unable to open it. Is there a way to view these files only? They want to confirm that they have the right file with no missed plots or incorrect data within.
A PlotSafe desktop license is available for users of Windows XP and Vista computers. A desktop license covers the user for 2 installations onto seperate computers. (as it is expected that a contractor will likley want an install for a desktop at the office and a laptop roaming computer / or workmates home PC).
Hope this helps Dave

The desktop version of PlotSafe allows export to YTGEN and CSV file formats.
Exporting data to text files (CSV) When you export your data to text files you create a set of files, one for each of:
Population Stratum Plot Tree Stem position. This has one row for each position on each stem. Plot type Domain Code Steps
Notes Headers are included in all files. The file extension is ".csv" if the separator is a comma, otherwise ".txt" User-defined properties are included, one per column, and the domain name is used as the column header.
Printing Files Quite often you might want the tree information only, if so you can print out the "Stem position" file.
The YTGEN file is also a text file format, which is "similar" in look and feel to a older style MARVL 2 DAT file. This is also an option you can use if you have YTGEN installed as well on your PC.
Hope this helps Dave
